How would I clean a little dirt off a beanie baby?
Q. I have this beanie baby, and I need to get just a little bit of dirt off the foot of it. I am unsure exactly how to do this, without making a bigger mess which it appears, would be my specialty. Heck, if you answer this question, I'll be sure to answer any "How to make a bigger mess", question you may have.

A. Ok here's my two suggestions. If it's dirt the Tide To Go pens that sell for a couple of dollars will definitely get it clean. Just follow package directions. The other is get a clean, damp white wash cloth with a tiny bit of Dawn dish liquid and just dab. Take the other side of the wash cloth that is just damp with water and kinda rinse the soap out. You do not want to soak or wet the Beanie. The theory less is more applies here. Let the Beanie foot dry. Take a toothbrush or soft bristle brush and brush the nap into place. If this is a collector item, you might consider putting into collector case or enclosed curio and display. Rather than sitting on shelf exposed to dust and debris in the air. Good luck

How can you make a beanie baby look old and worn?
Q. My little sister lost her favorite beanie baby. It was faded and worn. We got her a new one but we want to make it look just like her old one by Christmas so that she is none the wiser and believes that we found her old pink kitty.
Asked by ashley - Thu Dec 11 09:43:18 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Are there any pictures of her and her beanie? If there is, it will help. Wash the beanie about 5 times, and then draw little splotches on it with a marker. Make sure it is not crayola, because those wash off too easily. Get a sharpie or something and draw splotches on it, then put it in the wash again. The splotches will fade out, making it look more natural. If you rub it against a carpet for about 2 minutes, it should wear out. Hope that helps!

A. This question comes up a LOT! :) They are worth whatever people are willing to pay. And you can find that amount by researching this on ebay. By looking at completed auctions, you will be able to determine what yours would sell for. 1. Log in 2. Do a search for the item. 3. Click the 'Completed Items' checkbox (this is why you needed to log in) 4. Click the 'Show Items' button. Now you will see completed auctions. If the dollar amount is in red, then the item did not sell, and your item is worth less than the listed price. If green, then that shows the value that at least one person was willing to pay. This method of determining value is SO much more accurate than any online price lists, which are out of date and over inflate. Also, it… [cont.]

Q. I have a beanie baby that has 2 names on it one tag says Pounce, the other tag says Prance, ands it is only half full of beans. I was told that mistake ones are rare and worth a ton, so I was just wondering how much mine is worth. Any ideas?

A. You can go onto smart colledting . com, but the two beanies that you mention, well sorry to say that they are two different beanies. Now if both tags are on the same cat beanie then it will be a a mistake. I heard of a mistake that the company did on the royal blue elephant one was darker than the other but on the cats no. So check up on that site i gave you it might give you the price values for the different cats but i don't think that it will give information about one cat having 2 tush tags or heart tags.

A. Hi lproxx10, I am sorry to tell you that you cannot make much money selling beanie babies. There was a short time, many years ago, when there was a BB craze, and many of the oldest ones commanded huge prices. But that craze is gone, and the market is gone. Now most beanie babies sell for less than a dollar, with just a few of the rare ones selling for $2 up to $5. Oh, there are price guides that tell you many are worth hundred of dollars. But nobody pays those prices now. Price guides are always out of date and over inflate. There are a few fake ebay auctions now and then that run the price of a single auction to $1200.00. But I believe that this is just to try to scam someone out of money the 'next' time the same seller puts that… [cont.]

Knitting Baby Beanie Circular Needles subsituted for DoublePointed?
Q. Can anyone give me a good simple pattern to knit a baby beanie? I'm planning on using circular needles (because double pointed look so hard). I've found a couple of free patterns for double pointed needles does any one know if I can I substitute circular ones? I'm a novice knitter and only knitted flat things on regular needles any advice would be great!
Asked by Claire M - Mon Jun 16 09:51:06 2008 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments
A. Well, dpns, like any other needles, do have a learning curve, but they aren't hard to use. You can always knit a hat flat on a circular or regular straight needle, adding one extra stitch to a circular pattern for the seam, and then sew up the back at the end. There are some very good patterns for baby hats on-line, just google free baby hat knitting patterns.
